Announcing the 36°N Mentor Program

Acclaimed actor Denzel Washington once said, “Show me a successful individual, and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living. If you do it well, I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.”

We, here at 36 Degrees North, tend to agree with Mr. Washington. We believe, as entrepreneurs pursue their goals and dreams, that their efforts are bolstered in the context of community. Especially community with those who have "been there, done that."

So we are pleased to announce the launch of our new 36°N Mentor Program, designed to give our members access to experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders who understand the risks and rewards of starting a business. Our 2018 mentors were nominated and selected because of their ability to provide honest and practical feedback based on personal experience, not just business theory.

Here's how the new program works...

• Mentors will hold office hours at 36°N on a quarterly basis (see the first batch of 2018 mentors here)
• 36°N members can apply to meet with mentors each quarter
• The 36°N staff will work with members and mentors to create the best matches based on compatibility, clarity of purpose and impact potential
• Following each office hour meeting, the mentor and mentee will be asked to complete a brief survey to help the 36°N staff assess the efficacy of our matching

We hope these mentoring connections provide value to both parties and develop into ongoing relationships and enhanced networks. Today we're launching the first round of office hours, but more are to come! Stay tuned for additional mentor announcements.
