We’re excited to announce that Andrew Stroup has enthusiastically agreed to make a trip to Tulsa this November for the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Stroup, a native Oklahoman and entrepreneur known for his work with the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, will be the keynote speaker during the GEW Celebration Dinner on Thursday, November 17 at the Bond Event Center in Downtown Tulsa. He’s expected to speak specifically on Tulsa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and how the city can position itself on a national level.
Since graduating from Oklahoma State University, Stroup has led technology development initiatives at the Department of Defense, the White House, a nonprofit makerspace, a security tech startup and a robotics company.
Stroup’s visit is being made possible by the OSU Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, The Forge and 36 Degrees North.
“We specifically wanted Andrew for this event because of his impressive journey from OSU student to engineering technology entrepreneur, which eventually landed him in the White House,” said Alexces Bartley, with the OSU Riata Center.
“It’s exciting for us to have Andrew back in town to share his experience leading technology teams at the White House and around the country. We hope that he will inspire another generation of Oklahomans to build innovative companies here and influence industries around the world,” said 36 Degrees North Executive Director Dustin Curzon.

Andrew is a serial entrepreneur focused on technology-driven initiatives with domain expertise in software, cybersecurity, robotics, and government. He currently serves as SVP, Global Information Security at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, building a X team to tackle moonshot goals to solve the hardest problems facing fin tech, cybersecurity, and the world.
He has served as the Director of Product and Technology for the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, co-founded a security software startup within the identity and access management sector, built giant fighting robots designed for glorious arena combat, and started a nonprofit makerspace focused on access to industrial grade tools and education. Andrew was also a contestant on the Discovery Channel's The Big Brain Theory, a team-based reality TV competition where contestants go head-to-head against some of the brightest minds in the country.
Previously, Andrew has served as a DoD civilian focused on the Biosurveillance White House Initiative. His support to the Armed Forces also included oversight of medical countermeasures and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear materiel development as well as Joint Strike Fighter integration efforts. Andrew earned dual degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mathematics and Business Management from Oklahoma State University.
