Member Spotlight: Curtis Kline, Paperspace

Curtis Kline has been a part of 36 Degrees North since before our doors even opened. Currently, he is the director of operations at Paperspace, an engineering tools company focused on the machine learning space. They own a large GPU cloud and provide software that helps machine learning engineers be more effective and efficient in their work.

How, where and when do you get your best ideas?
Definitely on long drives. Also I sometimes wake up at 3am with ideas floating around in my head.

What's a work tool or ritual that you couldn't live without?
I live in Slack all day long and wish I could completely get rid of email.

What skill would you like to master?
Being a lifelong technology geek, I am always learning new tools and systems. The list of things I want to learn more about is very long.

What advice would you give to someone seeking to launch or grow a business?
Be honest with yourself about the finances - you're probably going to need more money than you think. Plan for that.

What's a big "win" you experienced in the past year?
Joining Paperspace was a huge win - it's an exciting company with massive potential, working on the forefront of cutting edge technology. I love it!

What are you most looking forward to in the year to come?
I'm looking forward to finding new ways to get involved in the Tulsa entrepreneurial community. I'm also really excited about the products we're building at Paperspace, and would love to find some more teammates here in Tulsa!

I was on the original board of directors at 36 Degrees North, and enjoy being around other entrepreneurial and technology-focused Tulsans.
