Member Spotlight: Libby Wuller, Quorum

Libby Wuller works remotely as the Director of External Engagement at Quorum, based in Washington D.C. They are a software company built for public affairs, providing one place for stakeholder engagement, legislative tracking, and grassroots advocacy.

How, where and when do you get your best ideas?
In the sky. I spend a lot of time with my pals at American Airlines flying all over the U.S. to talk about Quorum's products. I enjoy being able to unplug and write or reflect for those hours.

What's a work tool or ritual that you couldn't live without?
Anyone I work with will tell you I live and die by my hand-written lists. There is nothing better than crossing through each item and being able to look back on my week to see everything I accomplished. Bonus points for color-coded highlighting!

What skill would you like to master?
ballroom dancing

What advice would you give to someone seeking to launch or grow a business?
Our journey at Quorum began when we were all in college. There are few better places to test out a new business idea than when you are in school. From access to talent (more importantly talent that compliments yours) and access to capital through business plan competitions, there are so many resources available to you as a student that don't exist other places for entrepreneurs.

What's a big "win" you experienced in the past year?
Every August in Washington, D.C. Congress goes on recess, leaving a six-week gap of social activities for those of us who work with or for the government. Last year I organized a concert series in partnership with Lyft called "Startup Sounds." As a bootstrapped startup and proud member of the D.C. Tech community, we understood what it means to put yourself out there and chase your dream. We hosted a fantastic line-up of local D.C. musicians as they took the stage (or our old office space turned music venue) to share good vibes and groovy sounds.

What are you most looking forward to in the year to come?
Getting to know the Tulsa community! I am a proud Oklahoman, but only recently made my way to this side of the state. In the short amount of time I've lived here, I've been in awe of the city and the people here.

When I moved to Tulsa to work remote for Quorum, I knew I wanted to be around like-minded entrepreneurs. 36ºN has been the best place to meet people!
